Ms. Bazemore specializes in play therapy with children struggling with behavior issues, school performance, anger management, anxiety, self-esteem, impulse control, trauma and ADD/ADHD.
Jillian is one of 14 therapists in Raleigh who have obtained the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential, which requires 150 hours of play therapy training and 50 hours of play therapy supervision.
Ms. Bazemore has engaged in play therapy training at UNC-Charlotte Center for Play Therapy, which focused on theory and specified training methods using Child Centered Play Therapy with Dr. Phyllis Post, PhD, LPC, RPT who is a master in the field of play therapy.
Additionally, Jillian sought training in advanced play therapy methods at NC Central University and received training in Attachment theory with children and parents and studied The Circle of Security® method which is an evidence based model for working with parents/children.
Jillian has presented at the North Carolina Association for Play Therapy conference on utilizing play therapy in the school system to provide education for area play therapists.
With specialized training in many areas of play therapy, Jillian is able to be a supportive guide for families as they navigate the challenges of parenting and childhood and enjoys being able to help parents and children regain joy in their relationship.
Ms. Bazemore lives in Chapel Hill with her husband and daughter and enjoys spending time outside playing with her family!
