Hi, I'm Brianna (she/her)
Brianna (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSW-A) who earned her Master of Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill. She brings warmth, curiosity, and deep compassion into her work, taking an affirming, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach to every therapeutic relationship she builds. Brianna believes that trust, collaboration, and individual choice are at the heart of meaningful therapy and she is committed to meeting each client at their own pace, honoring where they are and where they want to go.
Brianna specializes in working with children ages 2 and up, tweens, teens, and young adults, with a particular focus on complex trauma, neurodiversity, anxiety, depression, difficult life transitions, and emotional and behavioral concerns. She draws from a range of modalities — including play therapy, DBT, mindfulness, and trauma-focused CBT — and has specialized experience facilitating therapeutic skill-building groups that help children and teens build peer connection, communication, and collaboration skills.
Play is central to how Brianna works with younger clients. She believes that meeting children where they are, in their language, through their play, creates the space for clients of all ages to more freely express their inner world. Brianna is currently pursuing her Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential through Child-Centered Play Therapy training under the supervision of Sara Bagramian, LCSW, RPT-S.

More About Brianna
Brianna is deeply committed to creating a space where every person feels free to show up as their full, authentic self. She understands firsthand how vulnerable it can feel to begin therapy, especially with someone who may not share your background or life experience and she holds that awareness with care and intention in every relationship she builds.
Her path to this work has been rich and hands-on. She completed a year-long internship with StudentU Durham, supporting elementary through undergraduate students in finding their voices and building belief in themselves and their futures. Before entering the mental health field, she provided supportive care to adult and child survivors of domestic violence through expressive arts therapy and individual case management. She later earned her certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), working directly with young children experiencing neurodevelopmental disorders, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Brianna joined the Oak City Counseling team in Summer 2026 and is currently accepting new clients — children ages 2 and up, teens, and young adults. If you're looking for a therapist who will meet you (or your child) with patience, warmth, and genuine care, Brianna would love to connect.
