General Overview
This group is designed to support children with neurodivergent diagnoses in building social-emotional skills through cooperative play. Using Minecraft as a safe, structured, and engaging environment, children will practice communication, collaboration, turn-taking, and problem-solving with peers.
Across five weekly sessions, participants will work together as a team to plan, build, and achieve shared goals. Along the way, they will have opportunities to practice both leadership and flexibility by making decisions, listening to teammates, and navigating challenges together.
Our goal is to provide a low-pressure, highly predictable environment where children can connect with peers while strengthening important social skills through a game they already know and enjoy.
Our group values include respect, safety, and kindness. We recognize that everyone experiences frustration or overstimulation at times. A quiet space, sensory toys and fidgets, water, and snacks will always be available to help children regulate and rejoin the group when they're ready.

The group will meet for five weekly sessions on Saturdays from 12:00–12:55 PM.
Who
This group is open to children ages 7-10 with either a diagnosed or suspected neurodivergent identity.
The group will have 3–6 participants. If fewer than three children enroll, the group will be canceled.
Where
Cost
The cost is $40 per session ($200 total for all five sessions). Payment is required before participation.

Requirements
Parent Information Meeting
An informational meeting for parents and caregivers will be led by the group therapist, Brianna Dowds.

Location: Oak City Counseling waiting room
Children are welcome to attend. Small toys, coloring supplies, and books will be available. Parents are encouraged to bring any questions they have about the group. Light snacks and water will be provided.
