Hi, I'm Morgan
Morgan (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Associate who has significant experience in providing play therapy and working with children. She utilizes an integrative blend of person-centered therapy, child-centered play therapy, Synergetic Play Therapy and expressive arts therapy. She has completed training in play therapy, family systems theory, and multicultural diversity in counseling.
After spending 2025 interning with Oak City Counseling, Morgan was able to receive training and supervision in play therapy and specific modalities such as Child Centered Play Therapy, Synergetic Play Therapy and expressive arts therapy. During this time Morgan provided individual therapy to children/teens and their families until her internship ended.
Morgan has joined Oak City Counseling officially as a clinician in 2026 and is continuing to train and receive supervision in all areas play therapy and also specializes in parent support and coaching.
Morgan is passionate about working with children, tweens, teens, and their families, offering holistic support that honors each individual's unique experiences and needs. She believes every person is inherently worthy of dignity and respect, and strives to create a safe, affirming space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. Morgan’s therapeutic interests include anxiety, depression, attachment and relationship based concerns, life transitions, and school-related issues.
Before pursuing a degree in clinical mental health counseling, Morgan obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Birth to Kindergarten Education from East Carolina University. She obtained her teaching license through the state of North Carolina, working as a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher for the NC Public School system. As an educator, Morgan provided children and families with holistic, developmentally appropriate early learning experiences. Morgan collaborated with teachers to advocate for developmentally appropriate, play-based, and research-supported teaching methods in schools. This experience shapes her current therapeutic approach, allowing her to provide compassionate mental health care for children, teens, and families.
Morgan is a parent of three and understands the inherent stressors of parenthood and is able to compassionately walk alongside parents to help support the entire family system.
